Here are your first steps

Flight Services
(FLS)

8-month certificate

FLS is a two-semester Certificate Program targeted towards those who want to explore opportunities in the airline industry. It is focused primarily on aviation safety and the roles and responsibilities of multiple airline employees, most notably, Flight Attendants.

Students enrolled in FLS will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to pursue a rewarding career in the service-driven, aviation industry.  A variety of policies, procedures and regulatory standards will be discussed as adherence to these assure a safe aircraft environment. Also covered, essential techniques that ensure passengers enjoy an exceptional onboard experience.

Operations and Cabin Management (FSO)

2-year diploma

FSO is a four-semester Diploma Program that delves into the airline industry; specifically the Flight Attendant position. The Program blends theory with practical exercises, and discusses both safety (in the first two semesters) and emergency procedures (in the last two semesters). This Program is best suited for individuals confident in their decision to join the airline industry as a Crewmember as it prepares them for an airline's Initial Training Course.

Students will use state-of-the-art equipment to strengthen their learning. Seneca College is proud to offer a live fire-fighting centre, an A320 door and overwing simulator, a B737 full cabin simulator, and a double lane evacuation slide. Tools such as these greatly increase a student’s confidence and they enhance their abilities in handling challenging, emergency situations.

General Program Information

The FSO and FLS programs start at the beginning of September, January, and May.

Students can feel confident selecting either program knowing that, should they find their focus changes while enrolled, pathways have been incorporated which allow for an easy transfer from FLS to FSO or vice versa.

Flight Services is offered at Markham campus until the end of Winter 2020. From Summer 2020 onward, the programs will be delivered at Newnham campus.

Due to COVID-19, all courses are being delivered asynchronously through the online platform Blackboard Collaborate.
